7.0.0

release forge-llm drafts

Forge LLM generation, Epic and Project workflows, draft-first review, and Forge-native observability

Version 7.0.0 - Forge-native generation

Release Date: July 30, 2026

Summary

EpicStory moves production AI generation to Atlassian-hosted Forge LLMs.

New and improved

  • Forge LLM is now the only production AI provider; EpicStory currently uses Claude Haiku 4.5.
  • Generated work is explicitly presented as an editable AI draft for human review before publish.
  • Recoverable format and completeness issues produce non-blocking draft warnings.
  • Project users can fully regenerate an active draft with a new instruction.
  • Operational monitoring now uses content-free Forge logs, built-in invocation/API metrics, and sampled custom counters.
  • Admin credit policy distinguishes shared tenant capacity from per-user usage guardrails.
  • Documentation now explains the four Jira/Forge permissions used by the app.

Changed availability

  • Issue-level selection-aware refinement is disabled.
  • Reusable Project sources and upload controls are hidden pending further model validation.
  • AI generation is disabled during the Atlassian Marketplace trial and requires an active paid license.

Human review

Generated stories, subtasks, estimates, and acceptance criteria can contain mistakes or omissions. Review and edit the draft before publishing it to Jira.

6.0.0

release project-workspace async-publish jira

Project backlog workspace, reusable sources, and async Jira generation/publish flows

Version 6.0.0 - Project backlog workspace and async Jira publishing

Release Date: April 19, 2026

Historical release: Version 7.0.0 hides reusable Project sources and disables issue-level selection-aware refinement while those workflows are reassessed. Project generation, full Project draft regeneration, asynchronous processing, and controlled publishing remain available.

Summary

Project backlog workspace, reusable sources, and async Jira generation/publish flows.

Details

This release expands EpicStory from Epic-level drafting into project-level backlog planning and improves reliability for larger generation and publish workflows in Jira.

New and improved

  • New Project Page workspace for multi-epic backlog generation inside Jira
  • Reusable project sources for TXT, MD, DOCX, PDF, and image uploads processed into structured planning context
  • Async generation and async publish flows with realtime progress handling for larger workloads
  • Guided project backlog publish flow with grouped publish history in the project workspace
  • Improved large-backlog publish handling with better retry control and partial-result recovery
  • Project source retention controls in Admin, with configurable TTL from 1 to 30 days
  • Issue-panel shortcut to open the project page in a new tab
  • Clearer publish progress feedback and stronger troubleshooting logs for generation edge cases

Outcome

Teams can move from single-Epic drafting to project-level backlog planning, reuse supporting source material, and publish larger Jira backlogs with better control, visibility, and operational safety.
