What EpicStory does
EpicStory helps teams turn epic descriptions into structured Jira backlog items. The app generates draft stories and subtasks, lets teams review and edit details in Jira, and publishes selected items to an epic when ready.
Quick start
- Install EpicStory from the Atlassian Marketplace for your Jira Cloud site.
- Open a project epic and launch the EpicStory panel.
- Select a model and click Generate Stories.
- Review AI-generated drafts, labels, subtasks, and acceptance criteria before relying on them.
- Use Publish to Epic to create the selected Jira issues.
Credits and models
EpicStory uses credits for AI generation. In-app credit indicators show remaining balance before running generation tasks.
- Model selection affects generation speed and credit consumption.
- Large selections (more stories/subtasks) consume more credits.
- Credit policy thresholds can be managed by Jira admins.
Admin settings
Jira admins can configure installation-level settings from Jira administration:
- External Logging: enable or disable telemetry forwarding.
- Credit Policy: tune soft cap, hard cap, warning threshold, and low balance thresholds.
Security and privacy
Start with the Privacy Policy, which currently serves as the main trust and legal entry point for EpicStory. Then review the supporting documents below before production rollout:
EpicStory produces AI-generated drafts. Teams should review generated output before publishing it or relying on it for delivery, security, or compliance decisions.
If your organization has stricter locality or transfer requirements, review the AI Data Policy, Privacy Policy, and DPA before production use.
