EpicStory for Jira

Convert epic content into a curated Jira backlog in seconds. Built on Jira Forge with AWS Bedrock and human review before publish.

EpicStory for Jira converts epic content into a curated backlog within seconds. Built on Atlassian Forge UI Kit, the app reads epic content in-context, sends generation requests to AWS Bedrock, and returns Jira-ready stories, subtasks, and acceptance assets for team review before publish.

See EpicStory in Jira

This short walkthrough shows how EpicStory turns an epic into reviewable Jira stories, lets teams refine the draft, and publishes only what they approve.

  • Generate a first backlog draft directly from an epic
  • Review and refine stories before anything is published
  • Publish approved work items back into Jira with the right structure

Product walkthrough: generate, review, refine, and publish from inside Jira.

Core Capabilities

Dual Generation Modes

Choose Fast (synchronous) for instant drafts or Precise (queued) when you need deeper reasoning across longer epics.

Draft Workspace

Every run becomes a selectable draft with a tree view for stories, subtasks, priorities, story points, and labels, so teams can edit before a single issue is published.

Selection-Aware Refinement

The Refine Stories chat sends prompts plus your current selection to the resolver, regenerating only the stories or subtasks you marked instead of clobbering the whole draft.

Guided Publishing

A publish panel summarizes what is about to ship, then calls secure resolvers that create issues, link them back to the source epic, set story points, and ensure the correct Jira issue types exist.

Use Cases

  • Stand up a release backlog directly from an epic
  • Iterate on regulatory or security initiatives where subtasks require frequent prompt-level tweaks
  • Prep delivery teams by exporting final stories, subtasks, and acceptance criteria straight into the Jira epic they will execute

Integrations & Architecture

EpicStory for Jira runs inside Jira Cloud via Forge. The current production generation path uses AWS Bedrock. Data handling, privacy terms, and processor disclosures are documented in our legal policies.
